Container Repair

Gulftainer operates its Container Repairs facilities through Momentum, its wholly owned subsidiary. Momentum’s container repair business operates a 24 hours, 7 days a week repair service for steel, aluminium, open top containers, flat racks and refrigerated containers.

There are now three fully equipped depots:

• A 35,000 m2 depot in Khorfakkan Port
• A 25,000 m2 depot in Port Khalid, Sharjah
• And a 20,000 m2 facility at Sharjah Inland Container Depot (SICD).

Services offered at all sites include Inspection, chemical, steam, and water washing, and container refurbishment, CSC inspections, and plate renewals. All inspections are carried out by IICL5 qualified inspectors and repairs are to IICL5 standards. Materials used are as per Industry specifications and an extensive stock of spare parts carried at all depots. Closed water recycle systems are in use for the dedicated washing bays. Reefer structural repairs can also be carried out including foaming of insulated panels and all major reefer structural parts are carried in stock.

Pre-trip inspections and pre-cooling of reefers is offered as a service. The business also holds the agencies for various reefer manufacturers including Carrier, Thermo King, Starcool and Daikin. The Container Repairs facility is authorized to carry out warranty work under these agencies and maintains a large stock of spare parts. All our reefer technicians have completed extensive training from the various agencies.
