Health and Safety – (Internal Audience)
Health and safety mandates are strictly implemented by Gulftainer’s award-winning Safety and Training and QHSE teams. The aim is to achieve zero harm in every Gulftainer facility. Toolbox talks are shared every month to constantly update employees of various health concerns. Gulftainer is a certified member of several prestigious organizations such as the British Safety Council.
An initiative has been launched to provide basic life support training to employees along with other health and safety training programs. Expensive life support devices – heart defibrillators – have been deployed through the UAE facilities, along with the required training on how to use this equipment, with the primary intention of providing a safe working environment to our employees.
Gulftainer has an award winning Health and Wellbeing program for all its employees. Currently employees at each of the UAE terminals are part of an ongoing health well-being program which regularly tests general health and offers eye and dental testing.
Health and Safety – (External Audience)
Gulftainer is currently exploring venues to extend its Health and Safety initiatives to the external audience. In the meantime, it is contributing to short term projects as below:
A. Fire Safety Trainings

B. Gulftainer takes part in Relay for life
Gulftainer team at “Relay for Life”
Gulftainer became the proud participants of “Relay for Life”, an event conducted by the UAE based non-profit, Friends of Cancer Patients, founded in 1999 under the directives and patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi. “Relay for Life” gave participants a chance to celebrate cancer survivors and carers; remember loved ones lost to cancer; and fight back by raising awareness and funds to support the work of Friends of Cancer Patients. Several 100s from Gulftainer’s UAE division took part in the 24-hour relay. This engaging and fun event with several well planned activities was a huge success in terms of raising awareness about Cancer patients and caregivers.
